With the rapid growth in urban population, air pollution has been rising from vehicles and heavy industrialization. The harmful particles in the air have increased significantly which caused many premature deaths. To respond to this problem and tackle SDG 11 “Sustainable Cities and Communities” specific to target 11.6, our team aims to build an optimization AI solution that tracks not only pollutants but also the effect of traffic, weather, demographics, and green initiatives on air pollution. This project would actively monitor air quality to recommend concrete social and political reforms of making citizens reduce the air pollution they cause to the bare minimum.
